Back story: I used to go here a lot in the 80's and early 90's. The last time I was there, there was one big hotel. During the 90's there was a building and investment boom. Even plans to put in an airport. Then W. enlisted Calderon in the war on drugs and Mexico died. The bird flu was the nail in the coffin. The empty beach where my friends and I used to camp is now lined with largely empty high rise hotels and condos. There is unfinished construction everywhere.

The fishing port was once much more active than now.
